The Chris Pérez Band, formed by Grammy Award-Winning Guitarist, Songwriter, and Best-Selling Author Chris Pérez, is a Latin Rock band infused with English and Spanish grooves. The band won a Grammy Award for Best Latin Rock/Alternative Album for their album 'Resurrection', beating out many notable acts. In this album, Pérez dedicated his English crossover hit song, “Best I Can”, to his wife, the late Latin superstar, Selena. To this day, Selena is the most successful Latin artist in the world and of all-time.

Chris Pérez is a Mexican American guitarist and was the lead guitarist for his wife Selena’s band Selena y Los Dinos. Pérez met Selena in 1988. Two years later, the Quintanilla family hired him to play in Selena’s band and the pair fell in love. He and Selena were married on April 2, 1992 in Nueces County, Texas, when she was 20 and he was 22.

After the Chris Pérez Band went on hiatus, Pérez joined A.B. Quintanilla’s (Selena's brother) music group, Los Kumbia Kings, in 2003. Los Dinos performed together at the Selena ¡VIVE! tribute concert on April 7, 2005. In the summer of 2006, A.B. Quintanilla started a new band called Kumbia All Starz, with Pérez as their lead guitarist. Throughout the years, Pérez stayed busy touring and collaborating on studio projects with well-known artists such as DMC of Run-DMC, Rome of Sublime, Travis Barker of Blink-182, and many others.

Netflix's 2020 release of Season 1 'SELENA: The Series', skyrocketed to #1 and remained #1 for weeks. Season 2 had equal success and put the spotlight back on her romance with husband and bandmate Chris Pérez. That same year Pérez's band (The Chris Pérez Band) also made a comeback with the re-release of their Grammy-winning album 'Resurrection' via Hollywood Records and performed multiple sold-out shows throughout Texas before the COVID-19 pandemic shut the world down in early 2020. Fast forward to 2022, Chris Pérez steps up to the microphone and sings lead vocals for the first time ever on his upcoming single “Pushing Ahead”. This new single will be released via Malaspalabras Records, founded by legendary performer George Lopez & Santana lead vocalist Andy Vargas. The official release date for “Pushing Ahead” is set for Sept. 23rd and will be available on all digital platforms.

In addition, the Chris Pérez Band’ will be making their triumphant return and headlining at the State Fair of Texas in Dallas, TX on Tues. October 4th. This appearance will mark the band’s first live performance since the COVID-19 pandemic.
